The Activity Room of the Children's Department was the site of our Favorite Book Character Celebration Saturday, April 20. Those children who had entered the contest, either by ballot or by creating a picture of their favorite fictional character, were invited to take part. We enjoyed some cookies and juice, played Picture Book Bingo and then held the raffle. The lucky winners in each age category were:
Age: Birth - 3 years old
Sachita Venkatesh
Her favorite character is Elmo of Sesame Street fame.
Age: 4 - 6 years old
Kieran Casey
His favorite is Mo Willems' Pigeon.
Age: 6 - 12 years old
Ella Barrett
Her favorite is Vanessa the Choreography Fairy by Daisy Meadows.
As you can see, the prizes were books to take home and enjoy.
